Three people died and nearly a dozen others were injured after a multi-vehicle crash on the Long Island Expressway (LIE) in Queens last month.

Police are investigating whether speed was a factor in a multi-vehicle crash on a major Long Island roadway that killed five people.
A 26-year-old man was driving a Subaru Outback eastbound on the expressway when he apparently lost control of the vehicle and crossed the grassy median. An 18-year-old Georgia teen has pleaded guilty to three counts of second- degree vehicular homicide and been sentenced to 24 months of probation in an accident that killed three people. The teen was driving a Ford Taurus southbound on a two-lane road when she tried to pass a pick-up truck.
